Since 2002, the H.E.L.P. Ministries, Inc. (Here Everyone loves People) fight has been to promote self-sufficiency in low-income areas through "Community Food Security.” This means that the 78,000 community members we serve will have access, at all times, to critical nutrition, education & enough food to lead active, healthy lives, often providing their only immediate emergency resource in times of crisis. Our mission includes a community-wide approach that encompasses local infrastructure, economic & job security, federal food assistance, food recovery & donations, health & wellness, education & access to fresher more nutritious food supplies.

Sam's Club joins H.E.L.P. Ministries to distribute food in the community.

Originally, we were only able to provide food on Tuesday mornings. However, we have now created an emergency supply system which allows us to provide food boxes to families in crisis that were referred to us by one of our many community partners. Through our service, we discovered that not only did our clients need basic materials to survive, but they required assistance in tackling a plethora of issues faced by the poor. Therefore, we sought to provide ministerial counseling, which would effectuate growth toward self-sufficiency.

Over several years, we have moved beyond our humble beginnings to an organization that currently supplies nutritional bags of food to approximately 900-1000 individuals or families every week. Our organization makes it possible for the low-income and single parent families, as well as the disabled, homeless, and elderly to enjoy balanced meals for several days throughout the week. Through our clothing distribution services, clients now have access to appropriate attire for work, job searches and every day wear for themselves and children of all ages.

Mission and Goals:

The mission of the H.E.L.P. Ministries Inc. is to service individuals with a need in the Tampa Bay Area with free meals to promote better health, enhance education, encourage social activities and to provide a single point of entry into the world of services for patrons.

Services provided by our organization fall in to three main program areas:
1. Food and Nutrition I Hunger Relief
2. Health and Education Services
3. Social Enrichment Activities

On an average week, we supply upwards of 800 families with bags of richly nutritional & well-balanced food supplies. This amounts to 10,000 lbs. of food per week. This is a major accomplishment, as no other organization in our region is able to meet the same fresh food supplement levels that we can. We have significant success with our Human Services, and education & wellness partnerships. We constantly seek to increase & expand. We collaborate with Well-care to provide weekly mobile health screenings. We bring healthcare closer to the community by hosting health education days & fairs at the pantry.
